As a member of Leadership Kitsap Class of 2014, my team’s project is to generate community support for bringing The Coffee Oasis into Kingston. We are doing this by organizing and promoting three community forums in Kingston.

These public meetings will be held on March 20, April 10 and May 1 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kingston Middle School. We will have speakers discussing the issues with at-risk youth, how The Coffee Oasis works, and what is needed to bring them into Kingston. The Coffee Oasis is going to cater these meetings, and there is going to be an auction and a personal items drive at the third meeting.

Aside from Leadership Kitsap and The Coffee Oasis, we are pleased to have as sponsors the Kingston-North Kitsap Rotary Club, the Greater Kingston Kiwanians, and the Kitsap Community Foundation.

The Coffee Oasis is a wonderful nonprofit organization with a proven track record of helping at-risk youth, and Kingston has a tremendous need for this. If you are not familiar with The Coffee Oasis, you can check out their website, or their Facebook page.

Please consider this a personal invitation to attend these very important public meetings to support this much needed effort. I would also appreciate it if you would “like” our Facebook page.

Thanks for your interest.
